Herff Jones Expands “Go Green” Regalia Efforts with Recycled Gowns
Renew Fabric provides campuses with yet another environmentally-friendly option.
Did you know that Herff Jones has introduced a new line of ClassKeeper gowns produced from Renew Fabric, recycled from post-consumer plastic bottles? With rental and recycled gowns, Herff Jones offers the most complete eco-friendly gown program in the college graduation industry. Students, faculty, and the environment benefit from this new keeper product along with the ClassRental regalia program.
The Herff Jones “Go Green” Program now offers three alternatives to colleges and universities:
- ClassRental™ caps & gowns: Herff Jones’ premium-quality ClassRental gowns are cleaned, inspected, and packaged after each use – requiring less material and energy than creating new gowns for each commencement.
- The CustomRental™ program offers an additional level of customization with an inventory of reusable gowns created and maintained specifically to enhance a single institution’s branding efforts.
- ClassKeeper™ caps & gowns with Renew Fabric. Renew Fabric provides Herff Jones the cloth to create attractive regalia from post consumer plastic bottles, offering a second use for PET (polyethylene terephthalate) material that would otherwise become part of a landfill. Commencement can now become a college or university’s latest effort in “going green.”
"The ClassRental cap and gown continues to be the gold standard for an environmentally-friendly graduation, while the Renew fabric provides a good alternative for colleges that require a keepsake product. Herff Jones customers have an outstanding choice of green regalia programs," adds Ken Langlois, Vice President of Sales for Herff Jones.
In addition to the regalia products, Herff Jones has made a commitment to environmental stewardship through online ordering processes that eliminate the need for paper orders, greatly reducing paper waste while improving ordering time. For all Herff Jones graduation regalia, orders are individually marked, packaged and shipped in recycled or recyclable products to minimize waste.
